In an exciting evening dedicated to the exploration of music beyond Euro-American cultures, these faculty artists will draw on national, regional, and local traditions from around the world to share the abundance of variety found in the cultures, customs, and colors of world music. Performing on instruments indigenous to Asian and African cultures (including the Chinese pipa and African drums), they will also demonstrate the assimilation of other cultures in Euro-American instrumental and vocal music.
